Who can get involved?

The Floyd County Child Abuse Prevention Council is made up of a broad base of individuals and organizations in the community who are willing to devote their time, talent, leadership and resources to preventing child abuse and neglect before it occurs.  Participation is open to anyone in the community who wants to help. Typical partners include:

 

     -Families 

     -Child Protective Services workers

     -Faith community leaders

     -Public and private human services providers

     -Concerned community members

     -Business leaders

     -Public health services

     -Law enforcement

     -Teachers and other education professionals

Many businesses in Floyd County and surrounding areas have chosen to get involved!  Below is a toolkit that list some of the ideas they have come up with. What wll your business do to aid in preventing child abuse and neglect?

 

If you suspect a child under the age of 18 is being abused or neglected please call: The Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-362-2178 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). Please be ready to provide identifying information and the whereabouts of the child. You may remain anonymous.
