Lutheran Services of Iowa (LSI)

LSI provides a 21 day intensive service option for DHS, JCS, law enforcement officers, community schools and the general public when responding to crisis contacts inolving children who are at risk of out-of-home pacement.  The goal of this program is to decrease the number of family, foster or shelter placements for youth.  By supporting families in crisis, we can be a resource for those families whos children may otherwise not be able to remain in their homes.

Learning Connections

This class is for families with children birth to enrollment in kindergarten.   Children will work on early learning skills in the areas of Math, Science, and Literacy, as well as Music and Movement and the Arts.  Parents and children participate together during the first half of the class, and during the second half of the class the parents engage in a discussion about nurturing parenting topics while the children continue to meet with the early childhood teacher doing activities that promote self-esteem and self-awareness.

See the calendar on the home page for classes in Chrles City, St. Ansgar, and Osage.

Connections Matter

Every day connections are more important than we ever believed. Science tells us that relationships have the power to shape our brains. Relationships help us learn better, work better, parent better. When we experience tough times, they help us heal. With each connection, we develop a healthier, stronger community.
